Geomap Feedback Resolution Panel Design
SUMMARY
The Geomap feedback resolution system was improved to streamline cartographer workflows, reduce resolution time, and simplify feature development. By improving usability and adopting a new technology stack, we achieved faster feedback processing and higher user satisfaction.
OVERVIEW
The Geomap feedback resolution system, a back-office panel that collects user feedback on maps, was redesigned and integrated into the Core B2B panel. The system allows cartographers to review user-submitted feedback, resolve it by adding the changes to the map, or decline it. The project aimed to streamline this process, reducing the time and effort required for both feedback resolution and new feature implementation. By adopting a new technology stack, we enhanced system performance, accuracy, and cartographer satisfaction.
Problem Statement
While Geomap was already supported by a back-office panel, interviews with cartographers revealed that it was overly complex and inefficient. Cartographers reported spending excessive time navigating the system, which reduced their productivity. Additionally, maintaining the panel and developing new features required significant effort. This prompted us to redesign the panel using Bootstrap, simplifying both the user interface and feature development.
Key Metrics
- Resolution Time: Significant reduction.
- User Satisfaction: Positive feedback from cartographers.
- Feature Deployment: Faster implementation of new updates.
Features
Dashboard
Provides an overview of panel activity and key metrics, enabling cartographers to monitor performance and data insights efficiently.
Feedbacks
Collects user-submitted feedback on maps for review by cartographers, who can resolve and add the feedback to the map or decline it.
Categories
Organizes feedback into categories, making it easier for cartographers to prioritize and manage different types of map corrections. It can be used for adding new categories.
Blacklist
Allows cartographers to blacklist certain users or feedback entries that are deemed irrelevant or abusive, ensuring higher quality data.
Process
Based on user feedback, we developed wireframes to optimize workflows and improve usability. The final UI was built with Bootstrap, focusing on user efficiency and ease of feature development. This redesign greatly simplified navigation for cartographers and reduced the maintenance burden for developers.
Outcome
By successfully integrating Geomap into the Core panel, the following improvements were achieved:
- Resolution Time: Significantly reduced through streamlined workflows.
- Cartographer Satisfaction: Increased due to easier navigation and quicker feedback processing.
- Feature Implementation Time: Decreased due to the simplified architecture and automation.
